Manila, June 2 -- Senate President Francis Escudero on Monday said the Senate will prioritize the passage of key legislation and the confirmation of hundreds of government appointments in its final six session days, placing constitutional duties over the looming impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a press briefing, Escudero emphasized that the impeachment trial, set to begin under the 20th Congress on July 28, will not interfere with the chamber's focus on urgent legislative and institutional work.
