Manila, Feb. 4 -- A Senate committee report warned that criminal syndicates linked to Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) operations continue to thrive, shifting their activities to new fronts.

Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros, chair of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, presented Committee Report No. 514 to the plenary, detailing how human trafficking, financial crimes and national security threats have persisted even after POGOs were banned.

"Banning POGOs was the right move, but our fight is far from over," Hontiveros said in a privilege speech.
