MANILA, Nov. 21 -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Friday said it had gotten the Senate's approval for its proposed PHP308.2-billion budget for 2026.

This took place during plenary debates on Thursday.

DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla, who was present during the budget hearing, thanked the Senate for its "steadfast commitment to strengthening public safety and local governance."

Sen. JV Ejercito, vice chairperson of Subcommittee F of the Senate Committee on Finance, sponsored the budget and emphasized that the chamber remains fully committed to both the uniformed and civilian personnel of the DILG.
