Manila, Feb. 5 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) temporarily suspended all vessels and watercraft departing from southeastern Mindanao and headed toward the Visayas and Luzon on Thursday due to Tropical Storm Basyang (international name Penha).

The announcement followed the 5 p.m. Wednesday bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, stating that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 was hoisted over northeastern Mindanao.

The advisory is in effect until further notice and may change based on the latest weather updates from PAGASA, the advisory said.
