Manila, Feb. 18 -- The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday directed the Senate to comment on the petition filed before the tribunal calling for action on the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Catalino Generillo Jr., a former special counsel of the Presidential Commission on Good Government, earlier filed a petition for mandamus, asking the SC to direct Senate members to immediately constitute themselves as an impeachment court and try the charges.
In a statement, the SC said it has "required the Senate to comment on the petition within a non-extendible period of 10 days from receipt of notice."
