Manila, April 15 -- The Supreme Court (SC) and the United States Department of Justice's Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) are seeking to explore collaboration on the high court's newly formed Judiciary Marshals Office.
This was after Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo met with Bruce Miyake, resident legal advisor of the US DOJ-OPDAT, during the latter's courtesy call at the SC En Banc Conference Room in Manila on April 11, according to a news release on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the SC said Gesmundo discussed developments in creating the Office of the Judiciary Marshals.
Miyake, meanwhile, lauded the creation of the office as the first of its kind in the region.
