Manila, June 6 -- Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Friday called on his fellow public officials to work harder for peace, unity, and inclusivity and serve with sincerity and compassion.

In his Eid al-Adha message, the leader of the House of Representatives said the commemoration of one of the most sacred celebrations in Islam should serve as a reminder of "the power of obedience to a higher calling, the importance of selflessness, and the strength found in unity."

"These are values that resonate not only within the Islamic tradition but also across all faiths and cultures. They are values that bind us together as a people, regardless of belief or background," he said.
