MANILA, Nov. 26 -- Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla said there is no truth to circulating rumors about the formation of a civilian-military junta.

He said the government maintains full visibility over individuals attempting to recruit personalities for a so-called "alternative government."

"Not happening," Remulla said in an interview with the media on Tuesday.

"It's never been absent from the Philippines. So, it's always been present in our system," he said, referring to a recent account from a senator who shared that he was approached to participate but firmly declined.
