Manila, Feb. 8 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday clarified that the ban and removal of political signage only cover the premises of its facilities.

"The PNP clarifies that its directive on the prohibition and removal of politically branded signages refers specifically to materials displayed within PNP properties and premises, including police stations, camps, offices, and other PNP facilities nationwide," PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement.

He said the directive is in compliance with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No. 2026-006 and reinforced by a PNP memorandum dated Feb. 2.
