Manila, Jan. 29 -- Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto has discussed with Sen. Francis Pangilinan several policy options to help align government actions on pressing issues concerning the sugar industry.

The discussion took place during a meeting at Malacanan Palace in Manila on Wednesday, where Recto assured Pangilinan that the sugar sector remains among the priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) said the meeting was part of the Marcos administration's broader effort to craft responsive and coordinated interventions for the sugar industry, amid continuing challenges affecting production, prices and supply.
