MANILA, Nov. 13 -- The Quezon City government is stepping up its flu prevention campaign as cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) rise, urging residents to immediately seek medical consultation once they experience flu-like symptoms.

In a social media post Thursday, the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (QCESD) said it has logged an 84-percent increase in ILI cases from Jan. 1 to Nov. 11 with 2,613 cases, from 1,420 cases during the same period in 2024.

"Pinakaapektado ng ILI ang mga batang labing apat na taon pababa na may 1,640 cases at matatanda edad limampu't lima pataas na may 268 cases (ILI mostly affected children 14 years old and below with 1,640 cases, and adults 55 years old and above with 268 cases)," it said.
