MANILA, Nov. 27 -- The Quezon City government on Thursday declared that La Loma, the city's famed lechon district, is now free from the African swine fever (ASF) virus after the implementation of strict sanitation measures and compliance across lechon establishments.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the city government said the 14 lechon establishments in the area were issued a temporary closure order on Nov. 13, after some hogs tested positive for ASF.
