Manila, Feb. 4 -- Crime rate in Quezon City dropped by 14.12 percent from October 2024 to Feb 1, 2025 compared to the same period from 2023 to 2024, Acting Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Col. Melecio Buslig, Jr. said on Tuesday.

In a statement, Buslig, who took the helm of the QCPD in October last year, said 602 focus crime incidents were recorded during this period, a decline from 701 incidents from Oct. 1, 2023 to Feb. 1, 2024.

Classified as focus crimes are murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, theft, robbery, vehicle theft, and motorcycle theft.

He said murder decreased by 29.41 percent, physical injury by 52.50 percent, rape by 36.21 percent, robbery by 17.53 percent, and theft by 9.49 percent.
