Manila, Nov. 10 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday warned the public against posting or sharing unverified videos showing "destruction" due to Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong), saying such actions could have legal consequences.
"The PNP warns the public against posting or sharing unverified videos online on the supposed impact of Super Typhoon Uwan in the country," acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement.
"Maging mapanuri dahil ang ilan sa mga ito ay deepfake videos na maaaring makapagdulot ng takot o pangamba sa ating mga kababayan (Be discerning because some of these are deepfake videos that may cause fear or apprehension among our countrymen)."
