Manila, Oct. 28 -- The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) regional office here has warned the public against individuals or groups falsely claiming to represent the agency regarding satellite connections, tower construction, or similar projects in Eastern Visayas.

In a public advisory issued Tuesday by DICT-Region 8 officer-in-charge Melvyn Carlo Barroa, the agency clarified that it is not connected, affiliated, or associated with any private individuals or entities offering or facilitating transactions involving the lease or purchase of lots for tower construction, the establishment of internet or satellite facilities, or any arrangement that promises monetary compensation or facilitation fees.
