Manila, June 19 -- Government authorities on Thursday warned the public against taxi rate cards apparently circulating and being used from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to key areas in the Metro.

The rate cards, which show exorbitant fees, bear an old logo of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).

"That rate card is fake. Colorum drivers hide it and they discreetly show it to the passengers to charge them with 'lower' fees, but that's an illegal rate," MIAA General Manager Eric Ines told the Philippine News Agency.

He also pointed out that the MIAA logo on the rate card is old.
