Manila, Feb. 10 -- United States President Donald Trump's announcement of imposing tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports to the US extended shedding in the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) while peso closed flat Monday.

The bellwether PSEi declined by 1.91 percent on the first trading day of the week to 6,037.12, with All Shares also down by 1.27 percent to 3,617.27 points.

Only the Mining and Oil counter gained by 0.90 percent to 7,430.20 level.

Biggest losses for the day came from Property and Financials sectors, decreasing by 2.43 and 2.42 percent, respectively.

They were followed by Services, down by 1.61 percent; Holding Firms, down by 1.56 percent; and Industrial, down by 0.40 percent.
