Manila, May 2 -- An additional 214 policemen from the various provinces of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will be sent to Abra in the coming days to help ensure security during the May 12 mid-term polls.

These are on top of the over 100 police personnel deployed to the province since the first week of March.

"Manggaling sila sa iba't-ibang probinsya and we hope to bring them there at least a week before the election (They will come from different provinces and we hope to bring them there at least a week before the election)," B/Gen. David Peredo, regional director of the Police Regional Office-CAR, said in a media interview Friday.
