MANILA, Feb. 3 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday assured senators that police presence along Marilaque Highway, a popular hangout for motorists and leisure riders, will be made permanent to enhance safety and discipline in the area.

During the public hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, Police Regional Office-Calabarzon (PRO-4A) Director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas said the Rizal Provincial Police Office (PPO) has been tasked to lead efforts to ensure continuous monitoring of the highway.

"On the part of PRO-Calabarzon, I designated the provincial director of Rizal Provincial Police Office as the lead unit para pagtuunan po yung Marilaque (to focus on Marilaque)," Lucas told senators.
