Manila, Sept. 17 -- The local police have launched a manhunt operation to arrest two motorcycle-riding gunmen who shot and wounded a private university executive here early Wednesday.

Col. Fidel Fortaleza Jr., Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said the victim, Alfredo Solis Eustaquio, 33, was shot around 6:05 a.m. along Estrada Street, Barangay Tetuan. Eustaquio is the vice president of Unibersidad de Zamboanga (UZ), which was established in October 1948.

Fortaleza said Eustaquio was driving his vehicle on the way to a fitness gym when the suspects on a motorcycle approached the driver's side and shot him once before speeding off.
