Manila, Nov. 3 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it continues to monitor its online platforms and shield these from possible cyberattacks.
This came as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) warned of possible Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks on Nov. 5, targeting various websites and networks.
DDoS occurs when actors flood a website with traffic, causing it to slow down or crash.
PNP acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. assured that various units are working with the DICT to strengthen the firewalls and integrity of the hardware and software they are using.
