MANILA, May 14 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday downgraded its alert status from full to heightened, noting that the May 12 midterm polls were peaceful compared to the previous elections.
In a press conference at Camp Crame, PNP Information Chief Col. Randulf Tuano said the police personnel who have completed their election duties can go back and concentrate on their regular work.
He, however, said PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil has instructed other police officers to stay in the local government units where the winners have not yet been proclaimed.
