Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Philippine National Police - Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) on Thursday launched an Information Management System (IMS) designed to strengthen its campaign against car theft and other road-related crimes.
PNP-HPG acting director Col. Hansel Marantan said the system would streamline the processing of HPG clearances, provide a unified nationwide database, and allow for real-time verification of alarmed vehicles. It will also give HPG personnel the tools to quickly identify suspicious or stolen vehicles, while giving the public a faster and more transparent service.
