Manila, April 24 -- The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) arrested 200 wanted persons in anti-crime operations during Holy Week from April 13 to 20.
In a statement on Thursday, CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said 19 most wanted persons at the regional level, seven foreigners, and three suspects in the kidnapping of Filipino-Chinese businessman Anson Que were among those arrested by the PNP operatives.
Que and his Filipino driver Armanie Pabillo went missing on March 29 after leaving the former's office in Valenzuela City. Their bodies were found in Rodriguez, Rizal on April 9.
Torre said the CIDG also confiscated 21 loose firearms and other pieces of evidence worth PHP109 million....
