Manila, Feb. 28 -- Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen Rommel Francisco Marbil has ordered all police units to intensify the crackdown on criminal groups and enhance crime prevention and resolution efforts.

This is in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for a stronger law enforcement to maintain peace and order across the country for this year's midterm elections.

"The President has placed his trust in the PNP to deliver results. We cannot let our people down. We will work harder to ensure that law enforcement remains firm, fair, and relentless in its pursuit of justice," Marbil said during the command conference held on Thursday in Camp Crame in Quezon City.
