Manila, March 11 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading misinformation as the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for former president Rodrigo Duterte.

"Furthermore, the PNP strongly cautions against the spread of fake news and advises the public to rely only on official government sources for accurate information," it said in a statement.

The PNP deployed 379 personnel to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 and other key locations to ensure a peaceful and orderly process of serving the warrant, which the International Police Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) Manila received from the ICC.
