Manila, March 26 -- Crime rate nationwide dropped by 18.4 percent from Jan. 12 to March 22 this year, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil said on Wednesday.

Marbil lauded all PNP units for their concerted efforts in reducing focus crimes in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s vision for a safer and more secure nation for every Filipino.

"I thank everyone for their collective effort in bringing down the crime rate. Let us not be swayed by any news that may try to discredit our work -instead, let our actions speak for themselves.
