Manila, Jan. 30 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) has arrested more than 23,000 wanted persons, seized PHP11.29 billion worth of illegal drugs, and confiscated 45,734 loose firearms since Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. assumed office as chief last year.

PNP data released Friday showed police arrested 23,708 wanted persons and conducted 19,922 anti-illegal drug operations, leading to 23,196 drug-related arrests, since Aug. 26, 2025.

Authorities also recovered 45,734 firearms through more than two million loose firearms operations.

The PNP carried out 408 cybercrime operations resulting in 511 arrests, conducted 1,468 anti-smuggling operations with PHP3.95 billion worth of seized goods, and launched 243,408 anti-carnapping operati...
