Manila, May 16 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) touted its task of securing the 2025 midterm elections as "mission accomplished", citing a decline in election-related incidents (ERIs).

In a statement Friday, PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil said the police force recorded only 74 validated ERIs, a 29-percent drop from 105 incidents during the October 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

He said over 163,000 police personnel deployed nationwide worked hard to secure the polls from the start of the campaign period in February until election day.
