Manila, Sept. 4 -- The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has announced the suspension of acceptance of all mail and parcels bound for the United States of America (USA) starting last Aug. 28, until further notice.
The decision follows the US's suspension of its duty-free de minimis exemption and the implementation of new customs requirements, which prompted PHLPost to temporarily halt services to avoid inconvenience to customers.
In a public advisory on Sept. 2, the PHLPost clarified that customers with items already lodged for shipment to the USA may request retrieval and a refund in line with existing guidelines, provided they submit the necessary documents.
