Manila, April 25 -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is encouraging more members in Western Visayas to enroll in its Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) package, emphasizing the importance of preventive healthcare.

"This is one program that we are focusing on because this is prevention," PhilHealth public affairs office head Janimhe Jalbuna, said during a press conference on Friday.

Jalbuna stressed that Konsulta aims to maintain a person's health and prevent potential complications.

As of the first quarter of 2025, only around 2.3 million or just 28.57 percent of an estimated 8.2 million people in the region have registered in the Konsulta program.
