Manila, Sept. 16 -- The Philippine government will call for a stronger United Nations (UN) in its attendance to the UN General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week in New York from Sept. 21 to 27, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro, who will lead the Philippine delegation, will also reaffirm Manila's "strong commitment to multilateralism and a rules-based order" before the international body.

"She will highlight the Philippines' role in addressing complex challenges as well as the country's call for a stronger UN-one that promotes peace, security, climate action, migrant protection, and sustainable development," the DFA said.
