Manila, Feb. 19 -- The local index finished in the green territory for the second consecutive trading day on Wednesday, while the Philippine peso closed sideways.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) increased by 0.41 percent to 6,119.88, while All Shares slipped by 0.11 percent to 3,675 points.

"The local bourse extended its rise backed by optimistic expectations towards fourth quarter/full year 2024 corporate results. The positive cues from Wall Street also helped in Wednesday's session," Philstock Financials research manager Japhet Tantiangco said.

The Mining and Oil counter had the largest gain, with its index rising by 4.74 percent to 8,315.87.
