Manila, April 17 -- Philippine Tennis Academy player Tennnielle Madis bowed to No. 4 seed Renee Alame of Australia, 2-6, 5-7, on Wednesday in the second round of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) J200 Kuala Lumpur singles competition at the National Tennis Center in Malaysia.
But the 17-year-old from M'lang, North Cotabato made it to the next round in the doubles, teaming up with Russian Alexandra Malova to beat Indian Diya Ramesh and American Priyanka Rana, 6-1, 6-2.
Madis, currently No. 213 in the ITF Juniors singles rankings, and Malova will be up against No. 8 Russian pair Anna Pushkareva and Alisa Terentyeva.
