Manila, July 2 -- The Philippine government is prepared for the possible fallout of reciprocal tariffs that may be imposed by the United States (US), Malacanang said Wednesday.

This, as Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said negotiations between the Philippines and the US are still underway to address the tariff issues amid the new trade policy under the Trump administration.

Castro, however, refused to provide further details about the ongoing talks.

"Pero asahan natin kung anuman po ang magiging solusyon dito or rather resolution dito, ito ay para po sa ikabubuti ng ating bayan (But let's hope that whatever the solution or rather resolution here will be, it will be for the good of our people)," she said in a Palace press briefing. ...
