Manila, April 26 -- The Philippine Navy (PN) said one of its newly acquired missile boats has successfully fired its Spike Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) missile system against a target off Mariveles, Bataan on April 23.

"The PN hit another modernization milestone with the successful live-fire demonstration of the Spike NLOS missile system aboard BRP Albert Majini (PG-909)," PN spokesperson Capt. John Percie Alcos said in a message to the Philippine News Agency Friday night.

The NLOS missiles fired by the naval vessel successfully hit a target about 24 km. away, he added.

Alcos said this event is part of the PN's "MISSILEX 2025."
