Manila, Jan. 30 -- No Filipino has been reported hurt so far following the mid-air collision between a US military helicopter and an American Airlines commercial plane in the Potomac River near Arlington, Virginia on Wednesday (local time), said the Philippine Embassy in Washington DC.
The embassy is closely monitoring the developments as search and rescue operations continue.
The Sikorsky H-60 helicopter collided mid-air with the American Airlines regional jet, reportedly carrying about 60 passengers and four crew members, while the latter was approaching its landing runway at the airport around 9 p.m. (local time).
There was no immediate information about casualties.
