Manila, Feb. 19 -- The Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) celebrated its 38th anniversary by introducing Chick 31, named Riley, the offspring of Dakila and Sinag, on Tuesday.

Riley was born on Jan. 16 at the National Bird Breeding Sanctuary in Barangay Eden, Toril district, through cooperative artificial insemination, a specialized breeding technique aimed at enhancing genetic diversity and increasing reproductive success.

"This process involves collecting and preserving semen from a male eagle (Sinag) and manually inseminating the female eagle (Dakila) under controlled conditions," the PEF said in a statement Wednesday.
