Manila, Sept. 10 -- The Philippine government on Wednesday deplored the Israeli strike in the Qatari capital of Doha, an attack that targeted senior Hamas leaders but also killed one Qatari security official.

"The Philippines deplores the attack in Doha which is a grave violation of international law, particularly the fundamental principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity enshrined in the United Nations Charter," the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement.

The DFA urged parties to the conflict in Gaza to agree to an "immediate and permanent ceasefire."
