Manila, April 11 -- Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. on Friday thanked all members of the Philippine Inter-Agency Humanitarian Contingent (PIAHC) who are hard at work helping Myanmar's quake-battered communities.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. instructed him to "relay to each and every one of you his personal thanks and gratitude for the wonderful service you are doing to our fellow men in Myanmar, particularly in this time of their extreme need," Teodoro said in a video message posted at the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Facebook page.

Aside from rescue work, the PIAHC has a medical component, providing medical aid to the quake victims.
