Manila, April 23 -- The Philippines has backed efforts to make the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) "more agile, efficient, responsive, impactful, and fit for purpose" as it marks 80 years this 2025.
Philippine Permanent Representative to FAO, Ambassador Neal Imperial, made the statement at the recent 177th Session of the Council of FAO in Rome, Italy on April 7-11, according to a belated news release from the Philippine Embassy in Rome on Tuesday night.
"With FAO's 80th year of existence this year, the Philippines supports efforts to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability of FAO," he said.
