Manila, Oct. 25 -- The Philippine Army (PA) is now looking for 1,050 individuals to fill up its officer slots for this year.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Col. Xerxes Trinidad, PA spokesperson, said the number is part of the total quota of 2,109 slots for the recruitment of Army officers this year.

The PA has allocated 400 slots for Officer Candidate Course (OCC); 400 for Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) Class 73 and 74; 100 for OCC-Reserve Officer Training Corps (OCC-ROTC); 100 for Call to Active-Duty Tour for Training (CADTT); and 50 for Direct Commission.

Trinidad said the recruitment aims to continuously build up a force to advance the organization's operational gains and finally end the insurgency in the country.
