Manila, Jan. 30 -- The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the US Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) inaugurated a newly completed fuel storage facility at the Brig. Gen. Benito N. Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on Thursday, highlighting the strong military alliance between the two nations.
The USD2.7-million project funded by the US government under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) features two above-ground storage tanks, each with a capacity of 75,708 liters.
"It also features a modern fuel handling system, a covered parking area for refueling trucks, and a secured perimeter, designed and constructed compliant to security and safety standards," PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said in a statement.
