Manila, June 26 -- The Philippines and Malaysia are expected to see increased naval cooperation and exercises.
This came following the courtesy call of Royal Malaysian Navy head, Admiral Datuk Zulhelmy Bin Ithnain to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. on Wednesday at the Bulwagang Balangiga in Camp Aguinaldo, the AFP said in a statement Wednesday night.
"Both leaders engaged in a constructive discussion on regional security, interoperability, and mutual interests in maintaining peace and stability in Southeast Asia. Gen. Brawner expressed appreciation for the continued collaboration between the two nations' naval forces," it said.
