Manila, Sept. 18 -- The Philippines and Finland have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the protection and welfare of Filipino professionals, including skilled workers, as they boost bilateral cooperation on ethical and sustainable labor mobility.
In a news release on Thursday, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said the two countries convened on Wednesday for their first Joint Committee Meeting on Skills Mobility in Helsinki.
"The Joint Committee, co-chaired by officials from both governments, aims to create pathways for ethical recruitment, skills recognition, and worker protection, while addressing Finland's labor market needs and supporting the Philippines' global workforce," the DMW said.
