Manila, Oct. 29 -- The Philippines and Canada will be signing a Status of Visiting Forces Agreement (SOVFA) this coming Nov. 2, the Department of National Defense (DND) said on Wednesday.

In an advisory, the DND said Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. will be signing for the Philippines while his counterpart, Minister of National Defense David McGuinty, will be doing the same for Canada.

After its signing, the SOVFA will be submitted for Presidential ratification. Shortly after their bilateral meeting and SOVFA signing, the two defense officials will hold a joint press conference at Fairmont Hotel, Makati City Sunday afternoon.
