MANILA, June 18 -- A Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) delegation has visited the 10th Regional Headquarters of the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) in Kagoshima to boost defense and security cooperation in the maritime region.

The PCG said this is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s vision of forging closer defense and security cooperation, as well as lasting economic partnerships, with major countries in the region.

According to a news release on Wednesday, the delegation was led by PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations (DCO) Vice Admiral Edgar Ybanez, PCG Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Arnaldo Lim, and Exercise Director Captain Lawrence Roque.
