Manila, Feb. 6 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Thursday prohibited sailing to small sea vessels on the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes.
The Coast Guard Station in Catanduanes issued an advisory suspending the venture of all watercraft with a gross tonnage of 250, fishing boats, and other small watercraft due to the strong gale-force winds in the area.
Sea conditions are expected to be rough to very rough.
The areas affected by the advisory were the towns of Pandan, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Viga, Gigmoto, Baras, and Bato.
While larger vessels are not banned from sailing, the PCG advised them to exercise caution due to the potential for significant wave activity.
