Manila, July 18 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday rescued around 200 individuals in Palawan and evacuated 151 individuals in Negros Occidental due to heavy rains and flooding caused by Tropical Storm Crising.

In a situation report, the PCG said a total of 88 families or around 200 individuals were rescued in Barangay Sicsican in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan by the PCG District Palawan (CGDPAL).

"At around 08:25 a.m., they deployed a Quick Response Team (QRT) to the affected area and utilized its mobility assets to assist in the evacuation of stranded residents, in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure the safety of the Filipino amid the heavy weather," it said.
