India, June 9 -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is readying deployable response groups (DRGs) to provide immediate response to any untoward incidents during the rainy season.

The PCG's preparations are in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s directive to provide fast and reliable public service to the public during the rainy season.

In a statement on Monday, PCG Commandant Adm. Ronnie Gil Gavan, said these DRGs are tasked to assist local government units (LGUs) in preemptive evacuation and rescue operations caused by torrential rains.
